The tournament is well under way with rain delays, five-setters and big serves aplenty. The big names are all safely through and Federer remains the 11/5 favourite (Sportingbet) after making light work of his first round opponent.
The 6 time champion is 2/7 to win his quarter, his main rivals, Tsonga (8/1 on Betfair) and Ferrer (20/1 on bwin), are also comfortably through but with his formidable record of making grand slam semis that price looks very tempting.
Djokovic looked good in his first match and the Serb who has tasted defeat just once this year also looks set for the semis, the slightly longer 2/5 on offer at Sportingbet should be taken now before it goes down further. Soderling is the main threat but realistically Djokovic should have little problems making the semis to face Federer.
As for the matches on day three, here are a few more picks
Tursunov v Gulbis (Tursunov to win at 4/6 with Paddy Power)
This one carries over in the midst of the third set with the score all square at 5-5 after Tursunov took the first 6-3 before Gulbis responded well in the second, winning 6-3. Tursunov won the grass tournament in Holland last week, beating Mahut, Malisse and Dodig to take his first title of the year giving confidence going into the Championships which showed in the first set.
Tursunov won when the two met last year ! in Tokyo and should have enough to dispose of the Latvian who lost his only match on grass this year, in straight sets to Adrian Mannarino.
Karlovic v Kubot (Karlovic to win at 4/7 with Stan James)
The 6 ft 10 Croation was impressive in his first match, winning the first set and going a break up in the second before Tipsarevic was forced to retire. Karlovic produced the fastest serve in professional tennis, clocked at 156 mp/h in a Davis Cup match doubles match and should be able to power his way past Kubot who doesnt favour the grass courts.
The Pole has reached the second round for only the second time and has had no tournament practice this year pre-Wimbledon. In addition to that, a gruelling 5 setter gives the physical advantage to Karlovic who didnt even have to finish two sets.
Simon v Sela (Simon to win at 4/7 with Betfred)
The Frenchman showed class to come from one set down in his first round against Roger-Vasselin and will be expected to continue where he left off. Sela is almost 60 places below Simon in the rankings and lost in straight sets on the only previous occasion the two players met. The Israeli has been playing a lot on tour this year with tournaments in Uzbekistan and Korea in the last month and it would be a real shock if he was able to match Simons on-court energy to progress.
Del Potro, Murray, Nadal and Roddick are all in action as well and should have no problems in their matches after fairly comfortable first rounds. The prices are way too short to back on singles though with Nadal topping the bunch at 1/100 but Del Potro (2/17) and Roddick (1/10) may be good bets to bulk up accumulators.
