The Euro 2012 co-hosts have been beset with delays to their main venue in the Polish capital. Building contractors in Warsaw have already been fined for failing to meet the June deadline and are now targeting an official inauguration before Christmas.
Online bookie Unibet price the stadium being ready on December 1st at a thin 1.33. You can back the saga to drag on for a while yet to 3.0.
Among the problems with the Stadion Narodowy have been a leaky roof and staircases which weren't built to the correct specifications. The project, which is costing around half a billion euro, may require a budget bail out of 63m in order to complete the venue.
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has said the new deadline of Nov! ember 30 th is "realistic and safe" and indicated an increased budget would not be necessary.
The stadium will host 58,00 spectators with space for almost 1,000 members of the international media.
A scheduled friendly against Germany in September has already been moved to another venue. To comply with regulations the stadium must be finished in time to host two friendly games before next summer's tournament starts.
A joint bid of Poland/Ukraine was chosen ahead of Italy and Croatia/Hungary to host Euro 2012.
Will the National Stadium in Warsaw be inaugurated by December 1st?
