In 2008 Rafael Nadal completed an incredible six weeks, winning at Roland Garros, followed by Queens Club and culminating in Wimbeldon triumph. So far, the Spaniard has one out of three and with Djokovic withdrawing and Federer also not competing at Queens this year there is every chance Nadal will follow his success in Paris with victory in London once again. Rafa is the 5/2 favourite with Bet365 to clinch the title and with big names missing that looks a good bet.

The main competition for the Mallorcan is the home favourite, Andy Murray, who won his first grass court tournament at Queens in 2009. There was some debate as to whether the Scot would compete after injuring his ankle at Roland Garros and with Wimbeldon in mind, expect to see a conservative performance from the number 2 seed. Murray is 9/2 with Stan James but the British number one is highly unlikely to be victorious so should be bet against.

In Murrays half of the draw is next seed and Queens specialist Andy Roddick. The American has struggled for form recently and slid down the rankings but always bring his A-game to the lawn tennis courts and has an unassailable record of 29 wins and just 5 losses at Queens. Roddicks serve and volley game suits the fresh grass courts of England and he will be putting all his efforts into a good run to give confidence going into Wimbeldon. Roddick can be backed at 5/1 with Betfred which looks a good price! .

Last year saw an all American final, amazingly without Roddick as Sam Querrey defeated countryman Mardy Fish in straight sets. Querrey will be set to face Wawrinka then Gilles Simon before Nadal if he reaches the semis but with his record on grass the number 13 seed could be a good outside bet at 25/1 with Betfred. Querrey is unlucky in his section with Del Potro also a strong contender.

Other dark horses to look out for are Xavier Malisse, set to play Andy Murray in the second round the Belgian has enough skill to cause trouble to the injured Murray and startying the tournament at 50/1 with WilliamHill a decent run will see his odds drop dramatically and profit can be made by laying later in the competition. David Nalbandian, a previous Wimbeldon finalist is a wildcard having not played much this year but on grass can cause upsets at 25/1 with William Hill.

Javier Del Potro also has the ability to go all the way, reflected in his 6/1 odds at Betfred. The Argentine gave a valiant performance against Djokovic at Roland Garros and has been in fine form all year. With Roddick not quite up to the standard of previous years, Murray still nursing injuries and Nadal needing some extra recovery time before Wimbeldon, Del Potro is my bet for the title.
