Luke Donald has quite simply been in scintillating form in 2011. In the space of just five months he has won a number of established tournaments, finished in the top 10 in nearly all of the events he has participated in, and has also wrestled the status of being the Worlds No.1 golfer off fellow countryman Lee Westwood. Not bad, not bad at all.

In February Donald recorded one of the biggest wins of his career when he won his first World Golf Championship title at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. Since this groundbreaking victory the Englishman has propelled himself to World No.1 after a string of superb performances. As a result he currently leads both the PGA Tour FedExCup Standings, with eight top 10 finishes in the nine events hes played, and the European Tour Race To Dubai leaderboard, finishing no lower than 6th place in the 5 events he has been involved in so far.

After excelling on both tours Donald will now be gunning for his maiden major win. He has already recorded a top 10 finish in the first major of the year after he finished tied 4th at the US Masters in April, and on current form you would certainly back the 33-year-old to go a few steps better and win this years US Open at the Congressional Country Club (16th-19th June 2011).

Sky Bet have some cracking major specials for you to get your teeth into as the second major of the year draws ever closer. The bookmakers are offering odds of 18/1 for Donald to finish in the top 5 of every major this year, which may well be worth a punt considering the form he is in. Donald looks good value at 8/1 to finish in the top 10 of each major in 2011 and 9/4 to finish in the top 20. Sky Bet also have him priced at 4/1 to become the next European maiden major winner. Donald is currently locked on odds of 12/1 ! with Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood in the US Open Outright Odds, with Rory McIlroy available at 18/1 and the 2010 US Open Champion Graeme McDowell at 40/1 to retain his trophy.
