The tournament hosts are now a short 1.75 with myBet to make it three in a row on home turf. Goals from Kerstin Garefrekes and Celia Okoyino Da Mbabi gave Germany the perfect start in front of a huge crowd in Berlin's Olympiastadion.
In Sunday's other game France (21.0) beat Nigeria 1-0 (251.0) and the action continues this week the opening group games in the 16-team tournament.
Second favourites Brazil (5.25) get their campaign on Thursday against Australia. Unlike the national men's team the Selecao have never won the Women's World Cup and lost the 2007 final to Germany.
Star player Marta has won a host of individual awards but the Brazilan ace, who has been compared to Lionel Messi, now wants the game's ultimate honour.
"I want to get a team medal, not just for me, but for the entire team, the athletes, the coaches and everyone. And for Brazil," she told the media.
Twice champions the USA have finished t! hird in the last two tournaments after lifting the World Cup in 1991 & 1999. America are still considered long shots with the bookmakers @ 6.50 to upset the German victory parade.
