The 2011 X Factor has recently dominated headlines after a chaotic build-up which has resulted in an overhaul of judges. Gone are the likes of music mogul Simon Cowell, national treasure Cheryl Cole and Aussie Dannii Minogue and in their place are Take Thats Gary Barlow, ex-Destinys Child star Kelly Rowland and in a surprise move the edgy Tulissa Contostavlos from N-Dubz, with Louis Walsh the only judge to retain his place on the panel.
The sparkling, yet risky, new line up have a huge act to follow and will face an uphill battle to win over the shows hardcore fans. Many of whom are fuming at the controversial dismissals of Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue who will no longer be appearing on the popular ITV talent contest. It is a double whammy for Cheryl as she was reportedly in talks with a dramatic return to the UK X Factor after she was cruelly axed from the US version.
The charismatic Louis Walsh has been installed as the early bookies favourite to lead a category to success in the new series, with William Hill giving him odds of 9/4 to do so. Gary Barlow has already stated that he will consider himself a failure if he is unable to lead his category to success, and William Hill have placed him as second favourite at 5/2.
The 22-year old singer Tulissa, who is known for her sharp tongue and outspoken views, was drafted onto the panel in a bid to make the show more fresh and she will no doubt be eager to get off to a winning start by mentoring a new star to victory. Both Tulisa and the popular Kelly Rowland are currently available at 11/4 to lead their respective categories to glory.
The 2011 X Factor auditions are now in full swing after getting underway in Birmingham at the start of June. The remaining auditions are as follows; Glasgow (6th June), Manchester (12-4th June), Cardiff (29th Ju! ne), Lon don (6th-8th July) and then finally onto Liverpool (13th-14th July).
